The Hunters Farming Guide

Not that kind of "Farming"

With the level cap just months away many players are gearing up to prepare for the upcoming challenges gearbox has in store for us. In this article Im going to show you fresh hunters the ropes and tips that many vets use to acquire some of the games greatest tools for destruction. Note if you have not hit level 50 farming may not be the best use of time. Your best bet is to wait until you have capped out so that you get the best gear possible.

What is Farming?

Farming is a method of acquiring rare gear from mini/ normal bosses, or from chests. The method goes as follows.
Boot up game
Find boss
Kill boss
Loot
save/quit
Reload game
Repeat...
Now this sounds quite tedious and boring, and after fighting a boss about a hundred times it can be. But farming is the most effective way to find specific gear. While you can get legendary gear from chests and slot machines it is extreamly rare and when you do it is completly random what you will receive. But many of the weapons and gear in the game has a specified boss that is "more likley" to drop it. Thus why farming is the most effective method.

Why Wait until 50

Legendary gear scales to your level, when it can take hours to get a specified piece of gear you want it to be the best it can be. A level 35 legendary item will be neat but will be out shined by level 40 gear soon after.

Why farming is important?

While some say farming "takes the magic out of the game" it also helps to preserve it as well. With the legendary gear you may be lucky to see one drop in a single playthrough... But damn when you have that gun you feel like a badass. If that gun was a gaurenteed drop off a boss everyone would have one, and if everyone has one do you feel any more badass than the next guy? The answer is probobly no. But it wouldnt be fair to the next guy if he couldnt aquire that weapon as well. The fact that you may have aquired said weapon could have been the loot moons alighning, and the loot gods showing you their favor. But everyone deserves a chance for that rare moment. You can gain anything with dedication and hard work, and the same goes for the gear in Borderlands 2. Farming helps make that possible and without it we would miss out of some of the best Pandora has to offer.

Other Advantages to Farming

Now while farming is usually known for grabbing legendary gear, there is no reason you cant use it for some quick cash, eridium or some blue and purple gear. In your never ending search for the best of the best there is no reason you may not find a hidden gem that rounds out your build. You will also be shocked at how much money you gain without realizing it.

How to speed up farming?

Learn the fastest routes and methods to killing bosses, some of the mini bosses go down in under a minute, after a while it will become secondhand.  There are many helpful guides on youtube.
(I will also have articles coming soon)

Float like a butterfly...

Once you complete the game you will have access to a quest called "This just In". This will be your first farm and a good one at that.

Get the quest from Mordicai and kill hunter Hellquest.
once done turn it in.
Fast travel back to arid nexus boneyard
save/quit and reload you will be back in the boneyard
after this hellquest will re spawn every time you quit. He is the one who will drop the Bee sheild. It has an ok drop rate but it will speed up your farming quite significantly. If you ready the bee sheild you will notice "your next shot" deals a bonus 50k dmg...... notice now how you wont take amp Damage, that means every shot you take will deal and extra 50k until you take damage, mix this with something like the conference call and you will be ripping through bosses in no time... no joke the Warrior can take maybe 2-3 minutes to kill.

Final tips

A few things to keep in mind...

You can farm multiple of the same weapon
you can receive legendary loot during the quest
farming is best done solo (spares hard feelings)
The "Vault Hunters Relic" is not exactly going to up your chances as significantly as you may think.... 5% increase on a 1% weapons drop makes for a .05% increase, your better off equipping a relic that will speed up the process.

Ill write some more articles on good and specific farm locations but I hope this has been informative to any new hunters new to the farmings seed. Final note, no clue if the Harvest moon ups the drop rates.... Needs testing

Jacobs weaponry guide

"If it takes more than one shot, you weren't using a Jacobs"

Jacobs wild west weaponry sits differently with every player and even character. Many fans have come to love the manufacturer while others forgo it in favor of the elemental weapons. but if there is one thing no one can deny its that these guns pack a punch no matter the foe.

All Jacobs weaponry ( besides some of the unique weapons) share the same traits. High damage, high recoil, and the lack of elements. There is one other trait that is what divides most players on these guns, they are all semi auto. But this "drawback" is also one of their biggest advantages. with control you can easily get criticals at most ranges with the pistols and Ar's. Good timing can keep the guns recoil at a minimum or you can mimic the burst fire of a Dahl. At closer ranges you can go full auto, and if you have a quick trigger finger you can drain a clip of 12 into an enemy in seconds.

Weapon types~

Pistols

sticking with the wild west theme the revolver style pistols pack quite a punch. generally higher dmg than the AR's but lack the range and have a very small clip size, average being six to eight. with a good shot you can easily drop charging foes.

Assault Rifles

Single shot rifles that are versatile at any range, but better suited for mid range encounters. Highly accurate but shooting too quick will cause it to stray making crits that much harder. controlled shots and quickscoping will drop foes much faster.

 Vlad barrel AR's
These are quite different from the single shots, while the standard AR is about precision the triple barrels are all about dropping foes with quick overwhelming shots. while you can easily crit with them it becomes far less likely to get controlled crits after the first shot. These guns fire thee shots at once and are quick to drain ammo, but for the damage they bring it is usually a minor setback.
Grenade Launcher

The grenade barrel AR's take 2-3 ammo per shot and pack quite the punch, upwards of 20K the ricochet off walls and explode on impact, as cool as this is they have a large setback as they cannot crit. I tend to stay away from the grenade AR's but i have fiddled with them from time to time. I will say that the Jacobs variants have a higher bullet velocity than the Dahl and Bandit versions. when using these be sure to guide your shots slightly and aim high for foes above cover.

Shotguns

The shotguns come in a few flavors. double barrel, triple barrel, and a few odd mixes of the two. they are designed to take out foes in one hit. most have unnecessary strong scopes making aimed shots a little harder, but the high pellet count generally makes hip firing these weapons fairly easy. While the 1-2 shots per clip may be a downside there are some with reload times fast enough where you barley even notice.

Sniper Rifles

The strongest of the Jacobs, and perhaps the standard bullet category as a whole are their sniper rifles. With high damage and fire rate these can cut down even shielded foes in one shot (granted for skills relics ect) they come standard revolver style, clip and single shot. Like all Jacobs weaponry the have a high kick but after getting used to them tit is a predictable one, meaning you can time the crits as it falls back into place. These snipers are welcome in the hands on any fine ranged combatants.

While Jacobs may lack elemental powers this acts as a pro and a con, it removes the stress of switching weapons per foes and focuses more on switching for range. But the major con is...it lacks elemental damage. The high damage generally makes that a small flaw though.

Classes who benefit most from Jacobs.

Commando

the commando has skills almost made for Jacobs. The skills listed below help to reduce their weak points and strengthen their strongest one.

Steady- helps to remove recoil
Duty calls- Raises damage of all non elemental weapons
Ready- Faster reload speed

The commando can take advantage of any Jacobs weapon

Mechromancer

One word Anarchy. With the already small slip size of their weapons you will be gaining stacks in no time, Jacobs shotguns and revolvers are the preferred Jacobs weaponry for gauge.

Assassin

Zero benefits most from the pistols and Snipers due to their accuracy and many Jacobs weapons feature a crit boost as well adding to his plethora of crit stacks.
